Parties over Xmas. Where will be the best?

I hear many stories of how the party scene is dead in Goa. A quick look on youtube shows me a different story. It seems well alive to me. I will be in Anjuna from December 30th to January 3rd as i expect this to be a busy time for parties. Where will the best New Year party be? Anjuna? Vagator? What about in the daytime during the Anjuna flea market. I hear Curlies is the place to be. Is the Shore bar still there? Not been to Goa since November and December 2001. As a lot changed?

shore bar is [was] dead. of course, it could come back but I'd be surprised.
Curly is now Sarpanch [political leader] of Anjuna + Shapora. I'd bet on his place for your best chance this season.
I'm sure there will also be various parties at locations that will only be anounced at the last minute.
be careful on the roads, especialy on newyears night. I'm a well known mad dog, but I don't go out on that night any more.
If you haven't been there since 2001, I understand why you liked Palolem [other thread]. It's like Miami now.

What does that mean?

Would you be able to elaborate a little on why you think Palolem is so bad now?

What type of crowds does it attract now?

it's just overbuilt; the entire coastline is a continuous wall of shacks, hotels, huts, restaurants, and shops.
the beach is overcrowded, looks like a beach next to large city or something.
Agonda was till looking ok last time I was there a few years ago.

agonad is still ok but it is heading the say way, there are a few yuppy looking beach shacks popping up that look more like a posh london wine bar than a beach shack in india.
the feel to the place is not nice in those places everyone is up there own ass.
there is one place that has top class beach shacks??????? with bath marble floor ect..and they are charging 3500 rps per night
what is the worl coming to
all said agonda is nothing like Palolem YET.....

so i would advise to check it out befor it is ruined like Palolem.
