Palolem?

I'm travelling solo to Goa at the end of October, and having devoured Lp's excellent book have more or less settled on hittin Palolemg first.Anyone have any experience of the area at that time of year? Not looking for raves/trance etc but equally don't want to be "billy no mates"either.
Cheers.

The "fringe" season will be well underway by the end of October. Most if not all the restaurants and camps will be open for business and there will be plenty of other tourists around!!
The trance party scene never really took off in Palolem the occasional small affair, set up by a restaurant, does occur but not on a massive scale.
Plenty places to chill out though, bars by the hundred and loads of good places to eat!
If Palolem is too busy for your tastes then move to Colomb or Patnem the two beaches to the south, much more laid back with all the joys?? of Palolem on your doorstep so to speak!
Agonda : 8 KMs to the North is changing fast but still a more relaxed alternative to Palolem!
For a decent night out check if the Alpha Bar is still doing the live open podium, saw some great musicians there last year alchohol is expensive though!
Lastly get yourself a motorbike or scooter (200-400rps a day) drive up into the mountains or along the quiet coastal roads, temples, caves, waterfalls, rock carvings, rivers, the greenest paddies I ever saw, hidden beaches are all a feature of South Goa and it is really rewarding to follow all those little roads to nowhere!

Have fun, I bet your still there in January!!
