Palolem or Patnem?

Hi,

My wife and I are planning to travel to Goa from 7-9 Dec. We are debating over whether we should stay at Palolem or Patnem beach in the south. While we like the idea of having bars and restaurants nearby, we are a little worried over the noise/party atmosphere at Palolem. Could you please let me know if the main party season would have started then?

Also, we checkec Ciarans but they were full. Would you recommend any other upscale beach hut accommodations at Palolem? (Parvatti huts at Patnem also seems a good bet).

Patnem is definitely quieter than Palolem but still nearby with a few good restaurants---Magic View in Patnem has some of the best home-cooked Italian cuisine and pizzas in India.

If not, Patnem is my choice. You can always take a rickshaw to Palolem for nightlife.

I like being around people, so I'd choose Palolem. Plus the best seafood I've ever had was in Palolem, can't remember the name of the place though. Hmmmmm. It was one of those shacks on the beach. Oops, going off topic.
