Palolem hotels/huts - which one of the following six??

I am looking for comments from those who have recently stayed at either the Cozy Nook, Bridge and Tunnel, Palolem Beach Resort, High Tide, Big Fish or La Raja Little Village. Thanks

I would advise Ciarans if you can afford it. Huts are by far the best on palolem beach and the foood and service amazing. Around Rs300 per night though! In my opinion, well worth it for a short luxury break. We are having a hut with roof sun deck this year. can't wait.

If you are looking for a low - medium budget beach hut then try
http://www.saivalentines.com/
We stayed there for 5 days this october.

For your information Palolem Beach resort is exactly on the right side of the main enxtrance.

I paid Rs. 800 per night for the front hut. However I think long term bookings for inside huts were going for around Rs. 500.

Did not book in advance. I had called them up to know whether they were open or not during this time & to confirm tariff. Just went there, saw the hut, liked it & we checked in. We were the their first guests of the season. Actually wanted to stay at Agonda Beach but leave one none of them has started operations, most has started building.

Great...Did they have "clean" attached toilets & are they located in the middle of the beach?

Thanks,
Abhi

Yes they had clean attached toilets with cold shower. The beach huts are right on the beach. The location of the property is on the north side of the beach, little away from the main entrance. But you a nice shack named Rock it right next to Sai Valentine's.

You will need to book in advance if you are planning to go any time in Christmas & New Year.

My partner and I would like to stay at Palolem beach in the second week of February 2009. There are so many possibilities on the beach, that we just can't decide which one is best. We have the following wish list:

- We both like to have a drink and a laugh in the evenings, and like a good party as well. We will spend one week at Anjuna for the more heavier partying, so sitting around a campfire with some music in the background will also be nice, we can always travel a bit when we want to dance
-However, when we go to sleep, we do not like to hear pounding music next to our hut, (we'll probably sleep late, so it does not need to be quiet at 11)
-We really want to have a hut on the beach, as we would like to open our doors and jump into the ocean when we wake up within a matter of seconds
-My partner likes a bit of luxury, what he finds most important is a decent bed that does not kill his back, an attached clean (!) bathroom (preferably with a hot shower, but I do not know whether hot water with a bucket is very inconvenient or that it is not really a problem), and something to keep him cool at night, however at the beach I guess A/C might not be necessary as you can open the windows and feel the sea breeze,
-We would preferably have a good restaurant nearby that serves a good (preferably local) breakfast, dinner would be great, but walking a bit to go out for dinner is not a problem.
- We do not feel like staying in an overpriced place, so we would like to pay a price that is Normal for Goan standards, 2150 rp per night per hut is our absolute max, but preferably it would be more around 1000 rp
-We would really like it to be owned by Goans

I know a lot of people have posted request for advice on huts in Palolem, but I am hoping mine is so specific that it will be easier (instead of more difficult, haha) to help out

Thanks in advance!

Hi,

I would also like to know about a good Palolem accomodation.

I have gone through the threads here on Palolem and Patnem.

Wanted your opinion on whether we should go for:

Goyam Huts in Patnem,
Bridges n Tunnels in Palolem, or
Casa Fiesta in Patnem?

Ciaran's was the first option, but they r out of room.

Also, Casa Fiesta and Bridges n tunnels dont seem to have any website or contact details.

Pls help.

Thanks,

Zany.

We stayed at Cosy Nook in feb this year and loved it, we payed around rps1200 for a room with toilet and cold water shower, we were right on the beach and because it was the last accomodation on the beach it seemed a lot quiter than the rest of the beach as not many people ventured past. Beds were very comfortable and clean, they also had huts with shared bathrooms which were also v clean. Great food, the staff were good fun and we felt very relaxed and at home...loved it so much we are heading back there next year with my partners kids. It was also far enough away from the bars, not that noise is a problem there as they have a 10.30 music curfew, but cozy nook is as exactly as it says...cosy and a lil nook out of the way.

Hi Piccola

I've read more reviews about Cozy Nook. All very good. The only thing is that I understood that they don't accept bookings?

My bf insists on having a place pre-booked. Do you think Cozy Nook will be full when we get there (2nd week of February)? Or that I can find a way to prebook the place?

And how 'bout the food, what kind of breakfast do they serve? I'd prefer a shack with Goan breakfast.

Thanks for helping me out !
