We are coming for a week-end trip to Goa. We need some information as well; I will post my photos and findings in this thread after returning from Goa.
We are planning for a 15 member (friends and colleagues) in the second week-end of August. We wanted to have a camping enjoyment. It’s monsoon time but still we were searching for some tent/ beach huts. But we are not able to trace any. We are targeting Calangute beach so that we get restaurants open almost throughout the year. Sleeping: We wanted a big dormitory (one or two). Or some place to have group accommodation. Then we can have the real fun together. I have enquired many places like GTDC (annexe and the main one), NV guest house, cocobanana (it is not having 15 people accommodation though) etc… But not able to understand which one will be right on the beach as well not far from the main Calangute beach point. Can anyone suggest some idea or information about the staying? I heard that the NV guest house is right on the south Calangute beach (which is 5 minutes walking from the GTDC complex). I know, it would be good to be there and pick a place to stay. It will be good if anyone can give some suggestion about a nice accommodation place (preferably economical, not the high rated) right on the beach/ very near to the beach. Going around: We are planning to hire some motor-cycles and go around places. That is surely be a fun….. Ah… there are a long list of the places to go… better, after coming back; I will write about them.. Eating: Yes, the most enjoyable thing I do… and I love Goan food and fishes… I need few suggestions on particularly near the Calangute beach. I have got the list that was posted in another thread about the ratings/top 5 lists of restaurants. May be, if I get the restaurants that you enjoy most near the Calangute beach; it will be very nice… I can have some of your experiences and add some of mine too.. Activity: Looking for any group activity/facility… but I know.. those resorts will be very costly… Any suggestion…? Well, the monsoon seems to be on there as we know… but we are looking for great fun….Hope that some water activity opens up during 2nd week of Aug. |

Since you know it is monsoon time why are you expecting water sports? Are you aware that the waves and currents are absolutely lethal? If you value your life stay away from the sea during the monsoon. |

Most guest houses will be closed for the monsoon,
but for 15 paying guests, im sure they will open, for the right amount of rupees. Forget water sports, in the sea. You will get plenty of water sports, just walking around. Enjoy. ![]() |
