Off to Goa: Nov - April 09!

Hi Guys,

Looking for some help with an itinerary. I will be arring to Goa on the 4th of November until the 6th of April. Wish to travel round India on a £3000 budget but have little idea of where to stay and places to visit.

If anyone has already travelled for this length of time, i would be interested to know the route you took. Anyone who hasn't but has the knowledge i would love to hear about the route you would want to take.

For the last 9 years I have worked in several UK and overseas departments with one of the largest tour operators in the world.

I have spent my life planning and organising peoples holidays all over the world, looking after them on whilst on holiday, organising their accommodation and transport reservations for them and transport arrangements in resort and dealing with their complaints in resort.

When it comes to planning my own trip, i need the best advice possible, so i hope that some folk on here could help me out!

Cheers,

Nick

I have never visited GOA but i know one thing for sure and that is that u should visit Rajashthan ( not now thr is some gujjar trouble ) , Guwahati, dhramshala ( Whr dalailama n fellow tibitians live ) , Pondicherry, , Punjab , Kolkata , Mumbai , Delhi, Sikkim , Arunachal pardesh , Andhra Pardesh n Gangtok

I mean that u should visit whole of INDIA n u will easily do that in 3000 pounds as its near 2 lakh rs. in Indian curruncy but i doubt u will be able to live for 6 months in India , u may be able to live at one place but if u want to travel whole India then i am afraid u will need more money

$6000 US is alot of money in India for 6 months. Don't know your interests but Goa is still nice at certain beaches. Once you get the itch to leave Goa, you could head south to Hampi, then maybe go to Mysore,Ooty,Madurai, Rameswaram, Mahabalipurim, Kerela backwater trip, etc.
Up north, Varanasi is a must, Bundi, etc. the list can go on and on. You'll figure it out once there. The Himalayas are a must also. Totally different vibe from the rest of India. Really peaceful and serene.
