You won't get much help if you keep asking stupid questions.

Here are some answers to your half-witted questions:

Yes there are furniture shops in India - lots of them.

If you want to find a furniture shop in India, go to a town.

There are lots of big towns in India.

In the big towns you will also find electrical equipment and kitchen equipment.

Yes. There are vehicles in India, like trucks, and these travel on roads - just like in Lancashire, UK.

The fact that you can drive a truck yourself would not really help you to import furniture from the UK to India. India is a long way away from Lancashire, and there are some dangerous roads.

There are people in India who make furniture. They are called furniture makers, or cabinetmakers.

Perhaps you require the sort of help that is beyond our ability to provide.

You might as well take his hand and take him to the bloody shop. & tell him there is tax to be paid, as well.

Well, this tout told me about this great furniture place in Goa. Yessir, yessir. He can make whatever it is you be wanting, sir. Just follow the alley past the main road, round the tea stand, through a couple narrow passageways and into the little green door on your left. Good emporium there, great furniture! No, of course it's not owned by my brother in law! Oh, no, sir. Taxes won't be high. Very cheap for this part of India. Let us wrap it and ship it for you, too! It'll be at your house before you are! Should I take you in my rickshaw? Oh, no, sir. That other furniture place, they're closed for the season. Yep, yep. Not open for a LONG time....

Hi tel

I've had a look at the two previous threads which you started yesterday and today and I think that you have had a number of very helpful responses (particularly john.sw) to your enquiries in a very short period.

As these responses obviously have not answered your very specific questions about importing furniture into India I suggest you note GoanCanuck's point that only a licensed importer is likely to be able to do that.

As a first step, I'd suggest you look up a local import/export agent the yellow pages where you live and ask a local agent to find out about Indian regulations on your behalf.

You need to remember that IndiaMike is about travel to and in India, rather than assisting in technical import/export matters.

Hope you find the information your are after.

Lets draw a line under this. Tel, as far as I can see has no personal interest in India, so we can't really expect him to have an interest in IndiaMike.com. If his friend can't find a furniture shop (clue: they usually have windows with furniture in them) then perhaps Tel hasn't noticed other threads on IM.

Never mind: can't please all of the people all of the time...
