Buses are not reliable, taxi to take u there from calangute/baga would be around 800 rupees, with the driver staying with u,not literally with u, he will wait for you til u r ready to come back, unless u are like us and make him join you, strip off to underpants and swim with you!! I am waiting for him to get back to me re what he means buses not reliable!! and also places to stay on Keri beach, bear with me. just texted him now so get bk ASAP |

the buses are not reliable as the buses close down by 6 p.m. then it's private vehicles like taxis or scooters (in u'r specific case out as it's 3 of u).

shahron: Thanx but nothing could be farther from the truth. I know even a life-time is not enough to see this beautiful country of mine. The main thing atleast in this life-time is to cover the whole of Himalayan ranges as well as the Andaman & Nicobar islands which is in itself is a big challenge. For me a trip to a place counts only when I'm there for a month or 11/2 month so in order to not just see the place but also the culture. It just makes the whole experience much more sweeter.

There are secluded beaches all along Goa's coast, just get some transport and sniff them out, explore all those little lanes heading to towards the coast and you'll uncover some real gems!!
South Goa get's my vote purely for the surrounding countryside, sand is sand when alls said and done and the ubiquitous beach shacks are the same all over!! The high hills, beddecked with cashew, mango and jack fruit trees are a wonderful backdrop to Goa's southern beaches and are a joy to explore. A day out in these hills will at least have you reconsidering the popular image of Goa...........go check them out!! |

Jivan,
Even I have set a target to see each & every part of India in my life time. However I can not spare the time due to my business commitments. But generally every time I set of (Which comes once in two years) I plan my trip for atleat 20 days. However I have the whole life with me as i am still 28 years only to fulfill my target. Do send links to your blog & pics. Keep travelling. Ronak. |

lucky u living there!! If i had no ties i would be there tomorrow without a doubt!!
I even got used to the roaming cattle!! I am trying to set up some work out there too, so i can do a couple of hols a year and some 'work related' visits in between!! Its not just the beaches, its the culture and the people are the best ive come across worldwide!! So friendly, made some fab mates out there. and for a woman that loves to shop its an absolute paradise!! going over with empty suitcase in november to do xmas shopping, sure beats the hustle of London in the freezing cold and paying 5 times as much for it all!! Still waiting for the info re Keri accomadation, when are u planning on going there? I have some photos of it, is there anywhere i can upload them on here?? then u can see just how beautiful it is. |

Well I will be going to Goa during Mid May (for my business visit), so it's lot of time for you to get the info. You can download the photos in Photo Gallery on India mike & provide the links in your reply.
