Question Need suggestion for beach resort in North Goa

Hello guys!

Can anybody please suggest me the best beach resort in the north goa where i can spend UN-forgetable 4N/5D?

I am going there on next year mid april and it will be my 5th year anniversary so i would like to give a life time memorable gift (this trip) to her.

Budget is 35-40 K including food.

This beach resort should have their own beach side area where i would like candle light dinner on beach where sea can be seen when we are doing dinner.

Hope to have some best beach resort in north goa and best beach.

Thanks,
Dilip

I am currently staying in Santana Beach Resort. I had food in in the hotel which was so so. I doubt, that in April you will have beach shacks. Still they have their beach shack. Currently they are building it up. They are close to the beach. Current rates are around 2-2.5K per night including breakfast.

It is at 2 mins walking distance from beach and rooms are big with a small kitchenette.

This is a decent hotel in a good location but not 5 star. Your budget is big enough to stay in a more upscale hotel.

Hi,

I have checked much more on other sites and also have checked about this hotel in tripadvisor and all most of the reviews are positive about this hotel.

Also, if any other hotel suggestion then this forum do not allow to post their name in public here so i think it would be better you send me private message from this forum.

What I liked about Santana.

Last time I stayed in Cidade De Goa. That trip was done many years ago when I was kid. This time I visited that area (Dona Paula) and Santana seems better in terms of surroundings.

You have plenty of shops and super markets around.

Very close to the beach. My friend was also staying in a resort near Anjuna beach. But there's hell of a difference between them. Anjuna beach has large rocks so playing in the sand etc. was not possible there. Was too crowded. Whereas Candolim beach (where Santana is) was not that crowded and doesn't has rocks.

Though the beach is not a private beach, but there are no markings on the road that say turn left/right for beach, so not many tourists will know that there exists a beach here. So its kind of only for the hotels that are there and it's not very crowded as well and clean as well.

What I
This time I searched the net and found Santana. My and a friend's family were visting Goa for a 5 days trip. My friend could not get a room for the first 2 days in Santana so for the first 2 days he was in a beach resort near Anjuna.

The staff is helpful and generally you will find people with a smile.

The rooms are big. Though, atleast in our room, sometimes we felt the AC a bit underpowered. I guess thay have a 1 ton whereas 1.5 would have been better. It does takes a while to cool.

The rooms have a kitchenette with electric kettle, fridge, tea cups and plates and spoon and wine and water glasses. The kitchenette also has a dining table with 2 chairs. Our room
(316) also had a sea view and so did my friend's (410). But I doubt if all rooms have that.

It is a pretty big resort with kind of rows a duplex villas on both the ends. In centre there is walking path. They have 2 swimming pools. One has a bar attached to it with the bar stools in water.

Breakfast generally has an egg preparation, bread butter jam, corn flakes , tea coffee, juice and an Indian dish like poori bhaji or idli or aalo parantha in buffet.

Your budget 35-40 K is for the trip (including travel, shopping, food) or just for staying there?

First of all thanks a lot for sharing your experience with us.

my budget is for hotel only and i am expecting below things from above budget and from any beach resort:

=>1 day sight seen to south goa (In bus, not personal car)

<= They have sight seeing tours in bus. One for South and one for North Goa.
South Goa AC tour was I guess for 360 bucks per pserson

=>1 day sight seen to north goa (In bus, not personal car)
=>Cruise boating

<= Boat cruises are done on River Mandovi. The above tour (South Goa)
should drop you there in the end. We did the tour. It was for 150 Rs. Tour starts at 1800 hrs and is an hour long with dance and music. Was a good experience I must say.

=>Beach side shack where we can take candle light dinner

<= While we were there the shacks were being built. They are dismantled during the monsoon. So I doubt if you will find that there.

=>Beach beds where we can spend evening time

<=They have swimming pool chair and beds. Don't know if they will have them on the beach or not.

=>Rail transfers (pick,drop)

<= Ask them and probably they will arrange it. I think every other hotel will arrange it. Cost from Madgaon station to Santana Rs. 900. From Santana to Airport 1400 IFor Innova AC) Taxis are a bit costly here. Distance from Madgaon station to Santana ~ 40 Kmms. From Santana to airport ~ 50 Kms

=>Buff. BF/Dinner

<= Buffet breakfast only. Dinner À la carte.

=>Beach facing luxury room with bath tub and best room amenities

<= Ask them for it. I doubt if they have a bath tub.

=>One day room decoration on my 6th anniversary

<= They did towel art (making things out of towel). But I guess they do extra decoration as well.

=>Pure VEG food (not even egg)

<= The restaurant serves non veg as well. By PURE veg do you mean non veg preparations should not be made? Then that is not the case here.

=>Welcome drink (non alcoholic - I am pure veg and non drinker, even do not take bear too )

<= They gave a welcome drink to me. Was not great but still it was there.
