There are no lager louts in Anjuna.
Glad to hear it! There was a little bit of it beginning in the late '80s when the flights from the UK started. I guess they found Anjuna a bit quiet and moved on elsewhere. Certainly, our friend found the atmosphere to have been very changed in the mid-90s - though of course he built more rooms and his business was doing very well on the back of it. Double-edged sword, really. Does anyone else remember the threats of demos by locals against the flights? I think there was talk of throwing rotton fish at the passengers as they disembarked! I wrote an article about Goa for my local newspaper that mentioned it - I must try to dig it out from my ancient clippings box. |
