Mumbai to Goa - Bus / Travel Options

Hi,

Plan on being in Goa from the 29th until about the 2nd, and was wondering what the best travel options from Mumbai to Goa are. Flights are a bit on the pricey side, so I looked at Paulo Travels, and am a bit confused by the pickup and drop off points. Ideally, I would like to be as close to the airport when I return to Mumbai from Goa on the 2nd, as I need to catch a flight to Delhi.

Any ideas, tips would be appreciated.

Thanks!

It's a fairly long trip and I would catch a train, as
this is more comfortable and safer. Overnight would be
the best option, you save time and money...

The day after the BIG PARTY your chances of getting a train are very slim so youve no choice other than the coach and thatll be hard so find some where you can book on line and book asap i belive most coaches stop at dadar which is around a 30 minute taxi ride away from the airport
if you have a flight from Mumbai to Delhi why dont you save all that hassle and change your flight will be a few grand but saves loads of hassle

You can take Neeta Volvo (Buses terminating at Borivali) which will drop you at Vile Parle or Andheri (A short rikshaw ride to the domestic airport). Even Paulo will have buses going to Borivali or Bandra.

Hi, one of my friends will be arriving at CST, Mumbai on 30th August 2011 around 10:30 PM. Since, train tickets are unavailable, he is thinking of taking the bus to Goa from Mumbai on 31st morning after taking some rest in the railway station dormitory. Is it possible to get a bus in the morning without prior reservation? What is the nearest Bust Stand? Please advise.

Day journey by bus not advised. Unless he is interested in the scenery. Day buses are generally slow and stop at more places than night ones. Also they will be fewer than at night.

Since the dates are clashing with Ganpati festival no reservations are available during this time as many people travel to their native place for the festival.

There will be hardly one or two morning buses for Goa. The nearest boarding (as well as booking) point to CST is Fashion Street (near Metro Talkies now Multiplex) which is at a walking distance (or a minimum fare taxi ride) from CST. But buses also start from Borivali & in that case they do not come to Fashion street. Check out this website for online bookings for Goa buses. They are one of the oldest & reputed operators on this route.

@ Narendra & Ronak,

Thanks! That would help a lot! I did contact Paulo Travels. They have some early morning buses from Mumbai.
