Not a tourist hotel, in Goa?

Mind you, I've heard of a few places that are aimed at buisnessmen, but these may not be near a beach.

You can save our members from replying with the wrong kind of places by giving some idea of your budget, I'm guessing about Rs2-3000 a night.

What time of the year are you going to be there in Goa, There is Papa Jolly's, which costs around 80.- to about 100.- Euros per night...

We are going for 3 weeks over Christmas and New Year....6 of us.Papa Jollys is more of a hotel and also is jolly expensive. I am looking for more of a tent/cabin interesting, smallish, bohemian type of place. I believe they are there but I am having trouble finding them. I need to book from here so its risky without seeing them first. We can't just turn up at that time of year and expect to find somewhere. So far I have found Dunes Holiday Village, Yab Yum Eco resort and Montego Bay Resort. I would like to know of any more like that AND if anyone has stayed at any of these. I can pay approx 4-4500 rupees for the right place with the right amosphere....on the beach, near a village with other shacks/resturants nearby. Also, how important is air conditioned rooms at this time of year? Would just ceiling fans be adaquate?

Any one know of Cocodomar (nr. Baga?
Anyone know of HOME guesthouse at Patnam?
This is Soooo difficult choosing somewhere unseen and from over here in the UK!! I've 'done' India some years ago, but it was on a shoe-string so don't know anywhere a bit more up-market.

p.s
If your staying on beach then you will not need a/c the time of year your going is perfect and at night you may need a shirt on
its when it gets to febuary its starts to get alittle uncomfatable at nights with very warm air
Also right next to morgim there is Turtle beach where on full moons you might get to see the little turtles scampering to the sea or you might even help them This is the beach that splits morgim and ashvem apart and beacause of the turtles laying there eggs there is a law that protects this small but wonderfull beach so there are no beach shacks allowed

Is the price the total amount (for all 6), or per person, or per room (for couples)?

Hi My husband and i stayed at Morjum beach this Jan, we stayed in a tree house right on the beach called the Goa Cafe,it was fantastic. The only problem is you can only stay for up to 5 nights. The price with a shared bathroom was about 7 pounds (not sure how much in ruppees) you can pay extra for your own bathroom.

Be sure to get up early and watch the fishermen come in with their catch.

Also still no overcrowed with tourisum.
