Monarch flight .Nearly empty

A Monarch flight arrived in Goa last Thursday from the Uk with 30 people on board !But as a local shack owner said " We dont care if the British are not coming we have the Russians "
The Baga beach is empty of tourists .So i just been told .
Should think its all to do with Visa situation.
Must be some cheap charter flights out there now.

Ah they have such a great way of encouraging tourists…

Let one of the best clubs close due to corruption, stop the markets, stop music after 10 build stupid new overpriced restaurants and shops oh and hand out shack licences late. Who ever is the tourism minister needs a gold star!!

Ontop of that all the holidays are arround £100 more than last year (not goa's fault though).

Its no surprise it was empty. I’m booked up for March with 9 others (my idea) if its rubbish compared to the last two times I’m gonna get it in the neck.

Cheapest flight i could find was £334 return in Jan.I have heard about people that just go to Gatwick and ask if they have a spare seat they can buy from Monarch and then get a seat for about £99.
Tourist minister is Micky Pacheco, who has been the tourist minister before . Met him a few times and not going to comment on what i thought of him !

Judging by some of the stuff I have been reading, including on indiamike, maybe the Russians have them, too

The Director of Tourism issues shack licenses not the Minister.
There are less Russians South than last year.
The UK tour operators were directing people elswhere, especially Thailand because of visas.
Yes, it is very "quite" as they say.

I am still very skeptical about new year !! Even though I have tickets for 30th Dec, however I am not able to find anything cheap to stay on internet..

I am planning to postpone it and be there around 12th Jan...not sure though..

Just heard that My Tours have canceled 50 flights into Goa.The people who booked have been offered their cash back or some other destination .All to do with the Visa situation.
This info is from a friend in Goa who does drink in the local bar, but the news doesn't surprise me

The visa situation has been sorted now though. You can send postal applications since the 4th of November. Saying that I haven't sent mine off yet and were going on the 29th of feb...
