Mobile phone charges to the UK

Hello all,

I'm lucky enough to be spending 3 months in Goa this winter and leave the UK in a few weeks time.

I'm keen to use a mobile phone whilst there but want to avoid extortionate roaming charges while away. I know that calling from a landline is very cheap now but has anybody got any recommendations about mobile use.

Also, are there many places offering wireless internet access in northern goa now ?

Thanks

an enormous amount of information about the whole mobile, roaming, internet thingy - and if there is anything else specific after that then fire away again.

happy travels
