You have been misinformed. Neither does the Hyatt have a private beach and neither is the Hyatt the most luxurious hotel in Goa. The Taj Exotica in Benaulim and the Leela Beach in Cavelossim are the top hotels in Goa.

I've been a guest there and i've been on their private beach as a resident, its out of bounds for non residents.

There is no such thing as a private beach in India. You can't buy a beach, all beaches belong to the Government of India. If beaches were available for purchase, the beaches in Goa and other parts of India would have been been purchased a long long time ago.

Looking at the beach next to the Hyatt from Google maps, I do not find anything "private" or "exclusive" about it.

As I posted yesterday, but it has now gone missing. As GC say's, all beaches in Goa are public. They can't tell you to leave if you don't stay at the hotel on a certain beach. You can't sit on their furniture, but you can swim and lay in the sand there, no problem. There are no private beaches in Goa!

The Nilaya is nice and is certainly priced as a 5 star resort, but I wasn't too impressed with the rooms to be honest.

I'd be really interested if anyone could recommend a deluxe hotel in North Goa, something similar in standard to the Taj. I know there is one at Fort Aguada, but be interested if there are any other hotels of that ilk in North Goa.

Thanks!

I walked up there yesterday morning and didn't see any private beach. They had all their sunbeds and fancy umbrellas up and security wandering about. Maybe they try and move you on if you put your towel down.

Luxury in Goa

North Goa or South Goa? You have a good choice in either. Do you want 5 star luxury or small boutiquey luxury? How do you like to spend your free time? What food do you like? How long are you in Goa for? What dates? Give me some clues so I may help you. I know Goa better than most foreigners here, Ive lived here a long while and I love to be helpful, it makes me happy, caio xxxx PS.

Niliya

This hotel is expensive, and not worth the money. Not many people make another booking, and I know many people who have moved after a night or too, to somewhere much better, and cheaper.

<pssst: I counted all of 2 foreign members above, probably pretty experienced>

Moreover and as I noted before site crash, I'm wondering why an outfit like Palmland Tours who offer to "organise your complete tours including hotel reservations, transfers and sightseeing ... at all destinations in South India" on their site would need to enquire here about fancy hotels in Goa. If anything I'd have my doubts about the PR side of it all if I were them. But to each their own right.

We do not offer tours to Goa. I have to help A European Tv team to make a travel show on Goa. I have been there first time one week ago. Nilaya was highly recommended. I visited Taj hotels and Nilaya. But, I prefer to show something better. I found this on internet.http://www.aseascape.com/index.html
