Looking for somewhere pretty for goa wedding
Hi folks! I'm new, but would love some advice
I am getting married in Feb 06. I am so excited, that I am going to Goa in Nov 05 to meet the wedding planner with my fiance. We would like to find a beautiful place with gardens, by the sea to get married and have a party. Only I'm not very keen on a big hotel. I would prefer somewhere more personal and maybe heritage. Does anybody have a recommendatio?Thank you in advance - Curly |

Hi There.....I'm new, too!
We attended a Goan friend's wedding last Christmas. The reception was held at the "Cameron Kingdom". I can't find any details on the web but if I remember correctly it's situated on the Mapusa Road heading out of Calangute. It's supposed to be the largest recetion venue in the area. The gardens are fabulous with pretty lighting amongst the trees and a huge outoor dance floor where the newly married couple actually drive through the privet archway in their limo and drive around the dancefloor whilst the guests pelt them with rose petals and foam! The catering was a hot buffet, and the bar staff circulated the party very attentively ensuring no glasses were ever empty! The place also provided a live band. I'd definately recommend you and your wedding planner check the Cameron Kingdom out! ![]() |

Thank you so much for your comments. I think the Goan wedding venues may be a bit big for us. We will only have 42 people at our wedding, so are looking for somewhere small and discrete. We are going to look at the Taj Exotica and the Fort Aguada, but again, I need to ensure they don't feel impersonal - does anyone know of an old goan home, or gardens on the beach?

The Goa Government is in the process of introducing a new law which would make it compulsory for the bride and bridegroom to produce AIDS-free certificates to legally register their marriage in Goa.

If you are looking at five star hotels, look at Cidade De Goa in Panjim.
It has a different charm because of the architecture. |

Cameroon Kingdom is located at a village called Bastora, on the outskirts of Mapusa.
