Londa to Palolem

Hi all,

Can somebody tell me if buses or taxis ply directly between Londa and Palolem? What is the approx taxi fare for the journey? And what is the approx journey time by bus and by taxi?

From Londa there are number of buses to Panjim and Ponda..My last journey to Goa was way back in 2001, so not too sure regarding the bus and taxi fares....Not sure regarding the place palolem...I assume that the place must be close Ponda or Madgaon...So according to me u have to go to Madgaon or Ponda first..please confirm ...I dont think there would be a direct bus to Palolem from Londa(In earlier days(till 2001) buses used to come from Belgaun there were no direct buses from Londa)...From Londa to Ponda its close to 4 hrs of journey by bus...The route what I remember is Londa-->Anamod ghat---->,dhoodhsagar -->molem--->Ponda.-->Panjim..

yes you can get a taxi to Palolem from Londa...

Well You will be able to get the taxy from Londa for sure.Taxies go to any part of Goa from Londa.I used to take taxy from Londa to valpoi Goa.In that time(prior to 2001)Goa express(2780,H nizamuddin -Hubli, nowadays Vasco)reach the Londa station at 3 am.From 6am or 6:30 onwards there were buses from londa to Panjim.As Whoami said they will be reaching at 7:30am,at that time you can easily get a taxi to palolim.No idea regarding the fare.If you have time then you can take a bus to Ponda or Madgaon.From there you can go by taxi.All the buses from Londa(I dont think there are direct buses from Londa,but those coming from Belgaun) to Goa(mainly Panjim and Madgaon) go via Ponda.So Ponda will come in any case whether going by taxi or bus.

Golden days are again refreshed by this thread.Long journey by train(Delhi To Goa)..reaching Londa at 3 am....waiting for morning...6 - 6:30am..drinking 2,3 cups of tea at Londa....and then taking a bus to Ponda..via the beautiful Anamod ghats..Thanks Whoami for this thread....

what s there in londa if i ait not mistaken ther are indusstrial units down there last yr around this time i was driving to belgaum from goa and londa was enroute !!

but i had to turn around as roads wer sad due to bauxuite ore mining !!!

On Saturdays train 7311 Chennai - Vasco leaves Londa at 08:20 and 2848 Howrah - Vasco leaves at 11:10, they arrive Madgaon 11:50 and 13:43 respectively.
Train KR1 leaves Madgaon at 14:25 and arrives in Canacona at 14:58 for a richshaw to Palolem.
Easy, and not a bumby uncomfortable bus ride in sight. All for RS43 plus the rickshaw fare.

I am travellng Bangalore - Goa on a day there is no direct train.

I can alight at Hubli or Londa arriving early/ mid morning respectively. Which is preferable in terms of catching a bus to Panjim?

Best option is to reach to Londa...There are number of buses to Panjim all coming from Belgaum..May be there are direct buses from Londa to Panjim...Goa express leaves Londa(to Madgaon/Vasco) at around 2:30/3:00 am .

How was the journey
I am planning a trip next month in the same route. arriving in Londa Jn at 8:30 AM -- next train is at 10:40 AM
So looking at options if it better to wait out 2 hours or catch a bus (I have 2 small children traveling with me)
