Scooter rates can vary significantly in Goa depending on the time of the year. So, whihc 8 weeks were you considering? The last time I rented was a few years ago. I am sure some one else will have the latest rates.

Long term 3000 pm, short term 200 pd. You might get them down to 3000 for 2 months. Things are quieter this year.

In Pondicherry a good rate for scooters or Hero Hondas is 80-100Rs. per day, short or long term.(A scooter comes as low as 70 Rs longer term). This way you have some kind of reference to see how much you are over-charged in Goa.

The law is the same but supply and demand differs everywhere.

What do you mean by overcharge ? These are two different places...

I would say someone is overcharging if he is charging more than what others are charging for the same service in that area...

The law of supply and demand has been canceled by a well established greed from the locals. There is indeed a great abundance of scooters in Goa and itīs utterly blatant how prices are rising each year. By no means the fares are in due proportion, hence I say they are overcharged.

More than 2 weeks, you'll get one for around 100 rupees a day.

If your in the Palolem-Patnem area go see Farouk Khan in Colomb. His family is very nice and has a driving school and also rents bikes. They'll give you a good deal for long term rental.

His phone # is
Office: 643786
Residence: 643787
Mobile: 9422057865

Or just ask for the driving school in Colomb.
