Scooter rates can vary significantly in Goa depending on the time of the year. So, whihc 8 weeks were you considering? The last time I rented was a few years ago. I am sure some one else will have the latest rates.

In Pondicherry a good rate for scooters or Hero Hondas is 80-100Rs. per day, short or long term.(A scooter comes as low as 70 Rs longer term). This way you have some kind of reference to see how much you are over-charged in Goa.

I would say someone is overcharging if he is charging more than what others are charging for the same service in that area... |

The law of supply and demand has been canceled by a well established greed from the locals. There is indeed a great abundance of scooters in Goa and itīs utterly blatant how prices are rising each year. By no means the fares are in due proportion, hence I say they are overcharged.

More than 2 weeks, you'll get one for around 100 rupees a day.
If your in the Palolem-Patnem area go see Farouk Khan in Colomb. His family is very nice and has a driving school and also rents bikes. They'll give you a good deal for long term rental. His phone # is Office: 643786 Residence: 643787 Mobile: 9422057865 Or just ask for the driving school in Colomb. |
