Is it worth visiting Goa In march?
hey raven,
am from bangalore. had been to goa for a week. just came back from there a couple of days back. it was just great. when i spoke to the manager of the hotel where i stayed, he said, because of tsunami, all the tourist crowd is diverted to goa, they have full booking till the end of april. so i guess, its pretty good a idea to travel to goa this march
cheers

If you were wondering about the weather, I visited Goa at the end of March 2004 and had a good time. It was getting pretty hot by then (too hot for me to linger in the sun at noon), and most tourists were gone so I basically had Benaulim beach to myself.

well I guess u r rite...i also got the info. that by end of march there will be no one (Almost),toursits!!!!!....coz in mid of feb after the carnival all the goa people have some festival in which don't arrange parties (i think for fourty dayz.....) so it won't be worth going...
anywayz thanks for the info....
any idea of Udupi and surathkal.....

Raven, you've got some accurate feedback from others so far. march will be hotter and while being a cusp/shoulder season it should see a few more foreign visitors this year as an over flow from south-east asia, post-tsunami. i got back a few days ago, and like me i am sure you heard more american accents in goa than usual. combined with the fact that in march some places in india have school holidays, the bottom line is that the 5-star and 4-star hotels in the south/candolim/baga area will be full, as usual, whereas the more peaceful spots will be, while not deserted, about 50% as populated as they were last week is my guess. there is a significant long-term crowd which is 'sticky' and growing, in my view. it also depends on which part of march you go, the first fortnight will definitely be busier than the second as the charters start tapering off then.
Hi
We are a gang of 6 people trying to drive down from Bangalore to reach Goa on the 5th of March evening and leave back in the morning of 7th March.
Leaving us with just 1.5 days.
Do you think 1.5 days is sufficient enough to go around Goa during the Off-season or if not could you brief me on if Party activities do happen around during that time and also if you could let me some near by sight seeing places ..so that accordingly it will help us to extend/ reschedule our plan by 1 or 2 days.
After going through a lot of posts in indamike, have to decide between Mantheven Homes or Hotel Julma to stay. The only thing that stops me from going to Mantheven Homes is that dont have A/C rooms, as i though during early march it is hot or a little humid in Goa. Anyways have to call and check with them on it,
Indiamikers please do throw up ur suggestions on nice place to stay/ party/enjoy and more than that places to go around.
Mini Itinerary if one could.
Thanks
Sudhan
