Goa is hot, but I spent two weeks in summer there two years ago... since my plan was lazing around, I did that, in the hotel airconditioning, poolside or beach... when it got too hot I just went inside for awhile.
Enjoyed it, too. We just went roaming around early morning and after sundown. |

Been there in May last year. I didn't think it was too hot, although it certainly was hot and the vegetation was pretty dry. Had a lovely, quiet time, relaxing near a peaceful beach, walking around in Panjim & nearby area and taking a boat ride. There were few foreigners & more Indian tourists.
So yes, it's worth it; in fact, judging by stories I've read about the place, I think for me it's the only time of the year when it's worth visiting Goa. |

i was there May last year, wasnt that hot. after wat people told us abt the weather we decided not to venture outdoors anywhere & jus hang around the beach but after reaching there we did rent bikes & roam around... Although May is actually off season its very hard to believe thet because of the crowds, since so many people go there in April/May i think it should be OK.

i stayed in ronil royale resort(http://www.ronilroyalegoa.com) , 2 mins frm Baga beach not a star accomodation, a very cosy place with a nice Swimming pool etc. & gud food.
Next door is the Ronil Beach resort(2 star) which is bigger & better. Nearby is Tito's a very gud nightclub |

During summer you will find more Indian tourists then Foreigners. It's def hot but if you spend afternoons inside your A/c room then it's fine.

Agreed. At this time of the year Taj Holiday Village offers a good balance you still get a little bit of action but can find some peace as well. Also, they has just opened a new restaurant with a terrace overlooking the beach, great place for a drink looking at the sea. But although we ate there only once, food was terrible. Their Thai restaurant is pretty good though

If they insist on the three days, or are not willing to reduce pro-rata, try to bargain for other things, like included buffet meals, drinks, x hours of internet access, sightseeing... has worked for me in the past.

Crowds last year in May? I guess it really depends on where in Goa you go. We were in Vagator and Panjim and there were absolutely no crowds. One day we checked out Calangude for half an hour, it was crowded there indeed.
