Is Goa safe?
Hello everyone,
Does anyone know if Goa will still be ok to go to after the earth quake? I have looked at the map and it seems to be quite a long way away from the affected area. Is anyone actually there at the moment who can tell me anything? I don't want to get all the way to the airport to find the flight has been cancelled! I am due to fly out on New Years day. I would be grateful for any help or information Thanks from Sessy ![]() |

I've been here nearly 3 weeks. There were some some exceptional tides for a couple of days after the quake. A report from fishermen on the mudbanks of the Mandovi spoke of quickly rising waters then a low tide and soon after another high. They said they hadn't seen anything like it in 40 years and kept out til things settled. A few shacks were flooded and there were a few larger than usual waves but everyone kept swimming.
It's as safe as it will ever be ![]()
