If you take normal security precautions, you shouldn't have a problem. I reckon Goa is safer than a lot of the European resorts. I've always found it to be as close to Paradise as I've yet got! It's a wonderful place.
The police are not always straight forward and it's a good idea to avoid them. Rumours of planted drugs persist - you have to pay to get yourself out of trouble but personally, I've never experienced it. If you're going to drink a lot, do it close to "home". Enjoy! |

I think, the thing about Goa, is that each beach has quite a different feel to it, and that you should be able to find the beach that suits you best.

Goa is beautiful
I trekked through Goa in December and found the Majorda Beach quite nice but then I cannot comment much on the party scene as I avoided it. I wrote about that experience at another place. If you wish, have a look.

Some parts of Goa are still wonderful and others less so, and it all depends on what you're after and what you make of it, as someone just said, I do believe though that some of the magic has gone (especially if you're into
endless dancing ), anyway magic is within you and everything is relative etc etc......... |

It can't be that bad. I'm moving there from the UK. The Uk is sh*t compared with Goa!!! I like a beer etc. and I have never had a problem, the people there are really helpfull, at least you can ask a question or help without there being any thought you are on the pick-up. I got drunk on a beach BBQ one night, and the boys on the beach arranged a taxi to my hotel for me free of charge - I did go down the next day and pay though!!!!

I hope you are aware that security has been tightened in Goa now.
Embassys don't know to tell, but locals do.

You know the saying: "Not until hell freezes over!", well Finland isn't really Hell until it freezes over (=winter is coming). Just a play on words. God, I'm really killing this joke now... and it wasn't very funny to begin with. Anyway, Ior Bock would know. He spent a lot of time in Goa drinking his own jizz, amongst other interesting activities. |

Yeah I did meet Ior Bock in Goa. And yeah I think him and his followers are doing some crazy sh--- But the Hell stuff mythologys is pretty interesting anyways. Actually I do think he talks about a Ice age and that Hell or whatever Did freeze over.... But I would indeed advice anyone not to swallow all the Bock stuff... Whatever it is. ![]() |
