Is Goa busy over Easter time??
I'm thinking of taking a break in Goa in late March/early April. I remember how hellish it was finding accommodation (and how expensive) over Xmas/New Year. Is Easter on par with this?? If so I may have to re-think! Your comments appreciated! :-)

Things will be back to normal at that time. Regular prices, etc. Alot of longterm people start heading out by then, as the temps start to rise. By mid-April though the Indians go on vacation, so some beaches, e.g. Colva will be packed. I never saw soo many people in Goa at 1 beach as Colva. 1000's of people on the beach at sunset time..But most like Arambol,Agonda,Patnem, etc. will be ok. You should actually find some pretty good cheap places to stay. 4 years ago in Colva I paid $10 u.s. for a great big room with a/c and t.v. and balcony during Indian vacation time.

If you can take the heat, it's a great time to be in Goa, though these days the stragglers hang on until May. Still as the other guys have said it will be considerably quieter and a lot cheaper!! No need to book in advance at this time of year!

Does the same (i.e. not too busy) go for Ellora/Ajanta during Easter long weekend?

Yep the heat slows things down considerably. I was at Ellora during April and had the caves to myself practically. This was during the week of course!

Thanks for yor help. Chances are I'll be staying in Baga/Candolim or Anjuna (so pretty full-on touristy areas). You reckon these will also remain fairly quiet? I think I can handle the heat! :-)

Goa ...busy at Easter?
It isn't... Goa is busy mainly during the Xmas-New Year week (with lots of foreign tourists and increasingly domestic tourists) and whenever there is a break in schools in India (when parents can travel) or during an extended weekend or something. Easter falls on April 8 this year, and that isn't the best of weather (hot and humid). You can count on very few foreign tourists being around. Some places might be overpriced to make up for the lack of visitors (anything seems good enoug FN
