Information about Fatordora Margao

Hello there !!! I am making my first trip to India this summer and hoping to see some friends . I have a friend from Fatorda but i don't know if its better to stay in a hotel close to Fatorda or stay at a hotel on Colva beach and take a bus or car to go and find him. I can't find any hotels on the internet in Fatorda which is about 7 km outside Margao from what I understand. Any advice...? Thank - you !!!!!

I don't know the Margao area, I suspect Fatorda is more of a suburb and probably lacks a hotel. You could ask your friend for a suggestion, or just arrange to stay in Margao or Colva/Benaulim. The distances are small, buses frequent, and taxis fairly inexpensive. If by 'this summer' you mean July/August, it will be full monsoon time so you will probably be as well off in Margao till you check conditions.

Buses are frequent and cheap christine..
Stay at the beach, inland Goa can be very hot and you'll miss the sea breeze!
I'm sure even in monsoon time you can find a room in Colva or Benaulim, for that matter even Palolem is only 40 kilometeres away just a nip down to the shops for you Canadians!!
Or I can give you the address of a nice Hotel in Betul with a pool and all mod cons price around 600 per night!!
Betul is around 18 Km from Margao, it is a fishing village though and comes with all day fishy smell!!
