In Goa Dec, anyone up for a beer?

Just a quick note to say hello to everyone here on the forum. I will be travelling to Goa on the 17th of December and was hoping there would be some peeps to knock around with. Im 22 and from Manchester England, like a drink and a smoke. I have never been to India before so some guidance would be great. Take it easy Ryan.

ryanjohnfrancis, Goa is definetly the place to chill out, hence the Goa "charas" is available everywhere around and smoked but the authorities donīt turn a blind eye, believe me. Itīs a legal crime and once caught with your pants down, youīll might find yourself beneath Fort Aguada in a squalid prison cell with cockroaches as your new friends for a party blast. Just a subtle hint.

Good job I was referring to tobacco !!!!

Seriously I didn’t know it was taken so seriously but I will be very mindful of this when I am over there.

I went to Thailand last year and its extremely risky for tourist to partake in such activities (although prostitution is perfectly acceptable) so I didn’t.

I guess Goa will be the same, which doesn’t bother me as long as the place has a good vibe……………. I am so excited.

You won't face a problem smoking anything in Goa. But if you want to chill and not get into the whole madness of new ear's eve, try to steer away from Baga and even Anjuna for that matter. Vagator, Arambol and Coco near Candolim are much better beaches.

Yup, will do I guess. Just take a taxi or the rickshaws at the airport. You can head over to Arambol or wherever you plan to stay directly from there, if you reach at 4, can ask around for a place to stay at a decent time, that is, when people are awake. lol. Don't worry...season time in Goa has a lot of people desperate to give tourists accommodation. You won't even need to ask anyone. I'm going to be there that time, let me know if you need to know anything else.

Bodhisattwa is of course right, you wonīt face a problem smoking anything in Goa like elsewhere in the world until you are sued by the people suing people. But as long you have a credit card nothing should go wrong....even in case that

Yeah the 1st is going back, but that information is still great thanks.
What should I expect to pay to get from the airport to Panaji. I feel like such a novice just like my first trip to indo.
I arrive on the 18th at 6AM.

Around 400 rupees I think. You can take the prepaid taxis there.
And york..being an Indian, I should be more worried about getting caught in Goa doing drugs compared to you guys. It's a reverse protectionism in here. lol
