Hyundai competition reps at Dabolim airport. Is it a scam.
Did anyone fill out a competition form at Dabolim airport when they came out. It was to win a Hyundai car and many weekly prizes. I thought it was time-share or something but it looked ok so i filled in the form and gave them my Mum and Dads UK number because my mobile wasn't working in India. Anyway i rang home and my dad said they had been in contact and said i had won a 7 day holiday in a 5* Hotel in either Goa, Bali or Thailand. I never gave it a second thought and when i got home my mobile had two voice mails on from one of the Hyundai reps saying it was not a time share and i was one of five people who had won this 7 days holiday. I explained i was in England but she said i had to be in Goa to collect the prize. Well anyway i am going back to Goa in late April early May. The girl said that i could still claim my prize in April/ May and they would arrange for me to be picked up and my prize given. I think they are based in Margao part of the Kings Group or something. What do you guy's think? On the competition form it's got a guy i have seen all over Indian t.v sitting on a Hyundai car and the draw for the car or cash equivalent is on May 1st.

Don't know about this one, but sometimes such prizes are an excuse to have to sit through long marketing presentations, to find out at the end that the prize has strings attached and is not 'free' after all.
I would do a little research on the group, and then talk to them while I am in Goa. And I would not pay a dime upfront for claiming my prize. |

Either an excuse for getting you to sit through a high-pressure-sales time-share presentation, or, just as likely, a genuine case of free accommodation --- with high charges for many other things that you won't be able to avoid paying.
Cynics'R'Us, indeed! But I never have anything to do with such things, and I never give a phone number.
