I'm 100% acutely aware of how Goa or India for that matter works. I have been going there many years. I am not going to have a property confiscated that I purchased honestly without some fight in me, at least give me credit for that.

Sorry Dellon, i was just coming back to re phrase what i said. I dont think you are on your own with having your property confiscated . I have heard of a few being taken away from them .One was in Shopora < cant spell it > a guy there had his Portuguese house taken from him , only cause they changed some stupid rule and he hadnt signed the paper work. When you next go back to Goa ,ask around the bars where they Uk people that live in Goa are. See if they have heard of anyone else with the same problem, and see what they are doing .
Good luck to you with whatever step you take. |

Dellon, Yogagal already pointed you on to another thread in post #5 of this thread. I'd encourage you to read all that, if you can muster it. That thread itself links on to another, earlier and equally massive, thread.
It may give you some idea of what you're up against. Here they are, both of them: Foreign owned property in Goa, (Part One) Foreign owned property in Goa, (part Two)

This thread started with reporting tax evasion and bribery, and has come down to confiscation of property in Goa.
Am I the only cyncial guy out here? |

My original comments and thoughts were if you are going down with a sinking ship why not take the perpetrator with you if you have knowledge of bribery and tax evasion.

Now, if you have suffered some kind of material loss and are seeking retribution, it may make sense. If you are trying to set the world straight, know what you are getting into. As some have suggested, even physical violence against the whistle blower is possible. |

In this case an odd response. People can let their fears take over their lives. I suggest working with news media as well to generate some cover. Do you have Goan friends, by all means connect. This thread reminds me of living in the barrio, so many people afraid of their skins, they live as cattle. If its a subtantial loss go for it and ignore those that have sold their patrimony for a bowl of porridge. Back to normality and less Southern Baptist, I lived in a hard area for a decade. When I left there were no drug dealers left. It was the work of only a handfull of determined locals. Took a few threats and one attack but how much worse is it to simply roll over for everything? Threats and violence are real. But, how much worse is it to simply internalize that? Its a challenge but I encourage the OP to do what they can..
