How Busy is It In North Goa Just Now

Hi All,

I'm going to Goa in mid January for a month for my 5th time. Just a few questions.

How busy is it at present in comparison to previous years?

Anyone stayed at Dona Alcina in Candolim?

I've noticed that year by year it gets busier and busier and pollution get's worse. Don't know if this was the reason i got illl last year. Too many bugs going about and not enough care taken by restaurants possibly. Anyway still a great place to chill I hope.

This year has been less busy as compared to last year. Dona Alcina is conveniently located but the mosquitoes are a major problem. After sunset it becomes impossible to sit next to the swimming pool.

I'd opt for the battery operated one because an extension cord on the court doesn't work - especially dangerous in doubles.

Electric Tennis Racquet is a raquet shaped electronic insect stunner.... you get them cheap in asian stores in uk. You can rub it over your clothed body and stun the little f****rs. Believe you me this gizmo is great... used it when I stayed in huts at Asvem.

It's Dec 30 in Arambol as I write this and people are still arriving and wandering the streets looking for a place. You hear 'all full' everywhere and it's very very difficult to find a place to sleep.

Mike,

How 'developed' is it around Arambol, Asvem, Morjim these days?

I stayed at Asvem (2 years ago) and when not there travelled from Baga to Morjim every couple of days. Love that area. Is it being exploited as much as Baga, Calangute, Candolim?

I'd hate to see North of Chapora turning into a Costa Del Goa situation.

Mike you should make that a sticky for all those people who insist that you just have to show up to get a room.

Arambol's still very busy right now (6th Jan).

You'll probably get a room eventually if you just show up but expect a lot of trudging around with your backpack looking for a vacancy.

Last time I was in Anjuna (last week) it looked very busy too.
