Hotel Situation in the Baga, Arpora, Calangute area

Need a little info.
Booked Allocated on arrival dorm house which I’ve just read is going to be a YMCA style 9-20 people per room jobbie. This isn’t a problem as this option was cheaper than flights only and we were only going to stay if the place was nice.

So what I will do is jump in a taxi from the Airport to Baga/Arpora and find a hotel when we get there. I’ve stayed in Renton Manor a couple of times and was nice so that’s an option (lists on their website 1500rs per night).
Are there any nice little guest houses i.e. double rooms with an on suite in this area? Not really looking to pay over 1500rs a night though. As I’ve booked trips to go all over the place we will only be staying in any one place for 4 nights maximum.

What sort of rates can you get in the 2*’s and 3*’s if you just roll up and are willing to walk away if the right price isn’t offered? I’m guessing its still quiet over there so shouldn’t be too hard to get a room?
