Are there any websites that you guys know about that have such Honeymoon packages? Alrenatively let me know where we should be staying...... what we shold be doing etc... We are looking to hit Goa most likely in Early to mid December.... |

I have been to Goa twice and I just loved it though on both occasions it was not a honeymoon trip. As you said both of you love seaside.
Goa can be divided into 2 parts : North Goa & South Goa. Have a look at this map Anjuna, Baga beaches(North Goa) are happening places where you have lot of activity and these beaches are crowded for most of the day especially during evenings. Benaulim, Colva beaches(South Goa) etc. are very clean, nice and not as crowded the beaches in North Goa. If you like to be secluded then that is the place to be and look for hotels in South Goa near Benaulim & Colva. I cannot help you much regarding the choice of hotels as both time I stayed in Royal Goan beach Resort (once near Baga & other time near Benaulim) which was booked through RCI but I must tell you that these resorts were quite good so if you manage to get accommodation there it would be good. But make sure that you get reservations in advance coz it gets very difficult to get rooms in December-January if you don't book in advance. Hope that helps. |

Depends on your budget. How much are you willing to spend?

thanks for the feedback so far.... I havent quite been to Goa yet so I myself have to now only look at where exeatly to go. From Gaurav's post about looks like we might be hitting the south beaches as we are are honeymooning and would like to get away for more "private" time
We dont have a budget as yet and are just shopping around for some ideas on how much it will cost. Some websites have packages which range from Rs. 10000/- to Rs. 30000/- so I suppose we need to be looking at spending this much? I guess it all depends on how much we have left over from the wedding funding :P If any of you have any suggestions on resorts on the south beaches please let me know. |

Goa is a nice place.
But, for a honeymoon, u can try Karwar - 100 kms south of Goa. It is a beach where the western ghats are in the sea - nice place. u can stay at Devbagh beach resort - a Jungle Lodges property. Look for information on Karwar and Devbagh beach resort at www.junglelodges.com Read by travelogue on Karwar. http://www.indiamike.com/india/article.php?a=31 Also, u can go to Gokarna - which is 40 kms south of Karwar. These places are on the beach. |

Regarding Gokarn as a "Honeymoon" destination. It is not really the place you want to be on a honeymoon as it is mostly a Temple/Pilgrim town mixed in with a lot of low budget party crowd.
Karwar is OK but there is nothing to do there other than hang out on the small island at the resort. Goa is definately a better choice as there are more hotels and beaches and lots to do both day and night. |

the north will suit you best as there is a great night life scene and also your only 30mins away from ashvem or morgim beach which i think compare with the beaches in south The taxi will take you there and also haggle the price for a decent beach shack for you to spend a few days to your selfs with just the sound of the sea at night to listen too and the stars to look at what a better way to spend a honeymoon wish i was younger lol taxis are really cheap so theres no need to hire cars .wish you all the best
