Hi,
Booked in for the Highland Beach next week and am aware of the on-going building work next door, but was wondering if anyone had any advice on which part of the complex would be best to try and secure a room in? From what I've read the building work isn't too severe, but I was thinking of mailing the hotel in advance to try and be as far away as possible. Any advice on rooms / location / floors etc would be much appreciated. Cheers Greg |

Hi Greg,
We have just returned from Candolim Goa, stayed at the Victor in Candolim. Didn't hear of any problems with The Highland, the whispering palms had a few problems with building works though. You'll have a great time, wish I was going back next week. Susie |

Thaks for the replies...it's very re-assuring.
Colin - As your the "man on the spot" as such, could you suggest a block to go for or an area.....eg. Back of the hotel, near the main pool etc as I'd like to possibly e-mail the hotel to reserve a specific room or room number if possible. Looks like Friday nights will be one to avoid as well.... Cheers Greg |

I guess the public will get what the public wants as long as they prefer Foreigner and the likes over some local music...

Hi Greg,
I was there last month, the Mancesjter block construction is completed, all that was remaining was the cosmatic stuff and work around the new swimming pool adjacent to this block. The apartments in this block are due for completion on the 15th Dec. Last month when I was there I stayed in a 2 bed apartment (3rd floor) overlooking the swimming pool, this block (I can't remember what it is called) is behind the club house and I recommend it. Would have perferred the middle level - too many steps to climb especially when you have over eaten ![]() |
