Help!!! Simple questions - soo confused!!

My friend and I are going to India - backpacking style - we only have a week there from the 15 Sept 07. We are going to stay two nights in Mumbai - then we want to get a train down to Goa - to a beach called Palolem beach. I understand I need to get a train to Cancona, as this is nearest station. Then we need to return on train to get our flight to Singapore - is this all feasible?!!!!! Or am I getting carried away!!!

It's feasible, but only gives you probably 4 days in Palolem.

Not all trains to Goa stop in Canacona. If you could get a earlier train that left many hours before the canancona train to Margao(Madgaon) you could get a bus from there to Palolem. But it might be to confusing for you.
