Its actually Grand Island and its off the coast of Vasco da Gama. You could take a canoe out there, however its owned by the Indian Navy and they carry out naval exercises including firing of weapons out there.

Not worth going to. There is nothing much to do there inspite of what Daytripper's website says. First of all Daytripper should be reminded that the water around Grand Island is NOT crystal clear.

thanks to let me know goan
.next month same day ill be in goa
I know that goa is quite quiet in may so i am trying to plan what i am gonna be doing there and it is also very hot in May so I want to stay as close to the water as possible,,,
by the way the tourism office of goa is not helpful at all and i ve been sending emails to hotels ( which are offering water sports..ect)
but you would know anything about renting a yacth ( a small one)for a day in goa..
what I d like to do is to cruise GOA `s coastline for a day..that you should a lot of fun..and I ll not be far from the water
what do you think?

You can rent a boat, not exactly a yacht in Candolim to take you around the coastline. Almost all the boat rental operators are based in Candolim and a trip there would be advisable. There is plenty of room for bargaining since you are going during the off season.

That will be a little too much.

I could be wrong but I think the kind of boat that you are looking for is not available for private rental in Goa.

I shall be going back in October. The flea market should be on in May but there will be very few stalls/vendors.

tell me goan iam trying to sort out which beaches i am gonna go to ( i have only 12 in goa) so i have to short list them..
palolem for sure f is on my list for 2 day-trips ( by the way can i hire bicycles when i get to there and use them on the beach---even during off-season)also is there any restaurant open where i can eat...u see one of my fear with trip to goa is it will be a hassle to good resto ,bikes...because of the off-season.

i aslo was thinking of arambol.beach.bevause iv read a lot abt the small lagoon and the mud stuff is it worth it or is it a tourist trap?
