Folks,
Let me begin by apologizing for asking the usual question but it's often faster to get info by just asking than going thru tons of threads! We are a family of 5 adults and a kid (3yrs old), planning to visit Goa or surrounding areas in Nov. We are looking for basic, neat and clean accommodation, on/(or close to) the beach; nothing very pricey. About INR 2.5k per night is our upper limit. I've heard that shacks, village homestays are also options available in Goa. Also, I've heard that Karwar and Gokarna which are not in Goa but have good beaches offer cheaper alternatives. Any recommendations/suggestions?? Thanks - whoami |

Beach shacks offer booze and food not accommodation! I think you are referring to the cocohuts which are not to be confused with shacks! Considering that you have a small child the cocohuts will not be suitable. You should be able to get decent accommodation in the price range that you mentioned. You can stay at the government operated hotels which are spread around Goa. http://www.goa-tourism.com/ |

Possible to rent apts for 4-5 days?
It must be cocohuts if you say so! Is it possible to rent an apt in Goa for 4-5 days? The Goa tourism site mentions very few options.. Are there any sites that list apts and village homestay options? Since we have a child we are thinking it might be a good idea to find accommodation that includes a kitchenette...

You could try Sun Park ,its off the Baga road same side as Subway and the turning is a stone throw away.they have some nice apartments all over looking a swimming pool.i dont know how much they charge cause you can barter the price down depending how long you are staying and how many.
Like every apartment and room you rent i would always advise getting another padlock. As so many tourists have rented apartments in Goa and its only 30-40 rs to get a spare key cut . Another place is Palmarinha Goa,you can find that through Google .There is a lot of apartments there that are not rented out by the hotel so it would be cheaper.Only thing is its about a 25-20 min walk to the town. |
