Hi all,
I'll go in mumbai for work during two weeks. Then one week in Goa - Palolem. But for the beginning of this real holiday week (once my girlfriend 'll come) we want to take a rest in a quite confortable hotel then the rest of the week in a bamboo hut on the beach. I already check the http://hotel-oceanic.com/index.htm Then do you know good hotel in Palolem or very close surroundings ? Many thanks for any ideas Bernard Brussels - Belgium |

Hi Bernard,
Hotel Oceanic is probably the only option in Palolem. I've stayed for a week Dec 2004 and have a good opinion of the hotel and the owners. The cocohuts in the beach are absolutely different, prices from 300 Rs to 3000 Rs. Best thing is to choose once you are there. |

Another good option would "Bhakti Kurtir". It's a beautiful place, very nicey laid out, lots of lush greenery and the organic food is very good. The place is owned by an Indian guy and his German wife, very nice people.

There is not a real town in Palolem, only houses here and there and cocohuts in front of the beach. Hotel Oceanic is at 10 min from the beach and another ten min to Patnem beach. Ciarans is in Palolem beach very well situated but probably noisy at night.

Ciarans is nice but as Jorge righly pointed out it's noisy, it's close to Cafe Del Mar which is an all night bar which plays music!!

I must be a slow walker..I suppose Oceanic is 10 min from Palolem if you go via the coast or 20 if you take the road.
I found Oceanic quite noisey but thats because my room was on the ground floor and opened directly onto the restaurant...was very annoyed with that... The rooms on the first floor are probably quieter... |
