Goa, where to stay, what to do?

Hi,
Planning to go with wife to Goa in first week of october
We will be in Goa for three nights.
Need information on where to stay and what to do.
Requirements
1. budget < 2000/night. with off season on I guess this should be possible
2. Resort should be on the beach. I liked Alcove kind of model. I am wary of "walking distance from beach" resorts because even 5kms is walking distance for fit people
3. Clean safe rooms
4. Some nightlife around
5. Resort on somewhat secluded beach, but should have vibrant nightlife nearby
6. Want to avoid the "more common" beaches as crowd is pretty rowdy. I was told that south goa is better since crowd is better there
7. Some watersports will be nice
8. Also want to rent a two wheeler
We will have 1 half day and 2 full days in Goa, any idea what to see?

Secluded beaches can have 1 or 2 nightclubs nearby, right
