Goa Tour Operators
Goa Tour Operators
Is it true that all Goa Tour Operators close for the season on 12th April? I was intending to go out there in the last week of April but was informed by one of the daytrip companies that they all close in Goa after the 12!! I would be grateful if someone could shed some light on this...
thank you!
thank you!
I've just realised after reading my post that its kind of misleading...I was refering to the tour operators out in Goa such as the daytripper tours who do the trips to the spice plantations etc. Basically does this mean that the tourist event organisers etc are closed after this time?

To be prefectly honest depending on your budgets forget the tour operaters, find yourself a good taxi driver(there are some honest ones)and he will take you all over the place less hassle of having to wait for others and at good rates,
I would imagine they would still be there till may.
As the indian summer-holiday season starts from apr 15, lots of family crowd is expected.
Thats how it is all over the country, but I dunno abt Goa (if its unbearably hot and nobody goes there!)
When I was there last week at Palolem, they said the beach-shacks close shop from early-may till october.
So I would imagine, April is still tourist season.

Guys thank you for your responses, i had been given the impression that all the tour companies out there close up shop completely...
alabamagoa, does that mean that a taxi driver would be able to take us to the spice plantations directly? Would they still be open? and how much should i expect to pay (on average) for driver's services for 1 day?
thanks again for all your helpful comments!

Yes he will take you everywhere and spend the whole day with you so no fear of being stranded anywhere you just have to agree a fair price we have a driver who is realy good depending on how much travelling you do he takes people down south all day and charges rps 1000 12 quidapx
excellent thank you for the price guide. Also, with the plantations themselves, are they still open for us to visit on our own, i.e. not through the tour guys? I presume they also charge and would I need to organise to see the plantation in advance or can i just turn up? Apologies for the possibly basic questions, but i have 4 days in Goa and really want to make the best of them!!
