Goa to Tarkarli, train or taxi ?

Which would be the best way to get to Tarkarli? would love a train journey but looking at the distance ,could it be done easier by Taxi. There will be 4 of us all around the 40 year old mark and heading that way 2nd week of March and none of us are any good at reading Indian time tables
Thanks in advance guys.

We did this in reverse a year or so ago, and landed up going by taxi. One of the things that most influenced us what that it is a fair way from Tarkali to the nearest railway station - I have a feeling it was about 45 minutes by auto, although cannot be 100% sure on that. And there were only autos at the station, no taxisat all, so with 4 of you, you'd definitely need 2 autos.

I cannot remember what the taxi from Tarkali to Goa cost, but do not think it was prohibitive.

Enjoy Tarkali, it is a beautiful place, and make sure you visit nearby Malvan.

Then a cab will be the best option.

To get the train, you'd need to get a taxi (or auto rickshaws) to Thivim railway station, then the same from the other end.

One bit of advice, when you try to get a cab for the journey to Tarkali, you will be quoted stupid prices, so ask 4 or 5 days before, then every time you pass a cab, ask again, and again, they'll end up competing with each other and the price shuld come down.
