You can get a train from Goa to Kanur. Then take a bus from Kanur to Mysore.
A taxi from Kanur to Mysore costs in the region of Rs.2,800. A lot. ![]() |

There are overnight buses to bangalore and then you could take another bus or train to Mysore.

Isn't there a train direct to Mysore?
I took it in 1990 from Goa to Mysore passing by the Dudhsagar Falls as you cross the Western Ghats! Does this still exist? |

1430 hrs Margao- 1800 hrs Londa train.
1930hrs Londa-Bangalore train with two compartments to Mysore. Kittur Rani Chennamma express. Occupy the Mysore compartment. or Panaji-Bangalore night bus. Bangalore-Mysore bus. |

This could be because of the introduction of a new overnight train from Dharwar (19:40), through Hubli (20:15) to Mysore (06:10) (2A & SL.)

The two options for train journey to Mysore are - either go to Belgaum and catch a train on Tuesday evening or Wednesday Morning or go to Dharwad/Hubli.(Daily evening train 1940 hrs from Dharwad).
Thes best option is Madgaon-Londa (Goa Express), Londa-Dharwad (Haripriya Express), Dharwad-Mysore.(Mysore Express). |

Hi clairet, avoid all non-essential travel for that one week between Christmas
and Jan 2-3 due to heavy crowd. Majority of trains and buses are overbooked. But if you must, book at least a month or two in advance. From Gao to Mysore overnight buses are convenient. However, you can also take a train down to Mangalore, and a 6 hour bus ride to Mysore. A train ride from Goa -> Londa -> Bangalore -> Mysore is often very long and not convenient. Look at this Railway Map. Click on the map to enlarge it to get an idea. |

Is there a direct bus from Goa to Mysore ? Traveling by train is safe, convenient and comfortable.
Trains going to Mysore do not go via Bangalore. There is a short cut route. Margao-Dharwad five hours day time train journey. No need for advance reservation at all. Just buy the ticket hop into a reserved coach and pay the difference in charges. Dharwad-Mysore night journey, reservation can be done in advance in any computerised railway reservation counter in Goa. Pick your choice. Last edited by Jay2005 : Oct 27th, 2005 at 16:32. |
