Not only that, but many beach-bound tourists are now not so comfortable with the whole beach scene and are redirecting their travels inland, and often northward, adding extra pressure to hotels in other areas. Great news for those hotels, but it makes it a little more challenging for those who prefer not to make advance reservations. That said, there are a zillion hotels and guesthouses in India, so you can always find something, just maybe not your first or second choice.
