Goa's June-August Party Scene
Hi all! me and my friends are thinking about backpacking throughout India during our summer break (june-august). We were going to stay in goa for about a month because we figured it would be a good place to meet other travelers our age, and get crunked (thats american for party) on a daily baises. But upon more research i found out that this is monsoon season, and the low season for goa. I dont mind some intense heat and humidity, and a little rain hear and there at all. however, i dont think it will live up to our expectations unless there is something of a party scene, even if it doesnt live up to the christmas and new year scene.
So basically i just want to know if there will be other travelers our age to meet, will there be decent things to do (like is the paraiso de goa open and holding events during this time), things of that nature. to sum it up we want to party and i just want to know if its worth going to goa for that party during these months. alternativly we are considering going to kho phangan in thailand if goa isnt hapaning, but this scares me a little because im more intimidated by thai law enforcement and as you can imagin, we may be involved in some recreational drug use . THANKS FOR THE HELP!!!! |

awesome, thanks for the info. I think that since its the low season we will go there and stay untill we get bored, from what i understand at that time the hostels are pretty flexible.

Merican Traveller
Hi
If you thinking of parties in June and July in Goa then you will definately not find anything happening, you might mostly meet Indian Package travellers who would visit Goa on Off season packages and may be a lot of senior citizens from UK and around who would be a part of Chartered flights. A month in Goa in June July would be bordome you will definately not meet young intresting travellers. The Goa party scene is on till end of Feb after that its silence |

many flights operating
Dear Seventies Hippe
Where in Goa are the parties after Feb. from last two weeks there has been no party also Goa is a like a country and it again depends what type of a party you are looking for Rave Party,Beach Party,Club Party,Shack Party,House Party or a family party with Goan locals for each individual the term party means different.Merican is a young guy and definately wants to have the youth parties which are definately OFF i mean totally OFF in June July ad he might not get the real Goa for sure Charters to Goa operate round the year as they have flights coming to Goa from various countries round the year ,if a international flights are arriving in April,May,June,July in Goa that means its a charter flight as no International schedule flight operate on this route. Take care Goamit |

Like the others say you will not find the party scene at that time of year. Goa tourism is highly seasonal and many, if not most, businesses and restaurants in the beach areas close down completely during the off-season. I went in October and witnessed them re-opening one by one, and sprucing themselves up for the season.

probably the only place with party like atmosphere is Mambo's on Tito's road in Baga. This place is still heaving in the monsoons and loads of travelers gather here

You are absolutely right. I was talking to one of my contacts in the Goa police in March and he was quite emphatic that outdoor parties will not be allowed under any circumstances until a new government is sworn in and the bribes can start flowing. ![]() |

Less talk of the old people in goa thank you
I have lived in Goa for 3 years plus all year round, approaching my 50th year of life still manage to go partying during both seasons, and at the moment this year there appears to be more tourists than ever before, and not indians tourists, there are places to go people to party with even if its raining!!!! just go to chapora/siolim Elvis's bar, good music cheap beer good company!! /anjuna and the list goes on there are always new faces to meet and talk to and even us "old people" have a laugh and tales to tell and the weather has not been that bad yet, but hey whats abit of rain!!!plenty of cheap indian bars and resturants "kings beer RS18/- " not tourists prices that you will get come october when the charters fly in, see the real goa in monsoon. if your travelling you wont be disappointed just a little wet now and again.

Hi I live in Arpora, Little Baga north Goa, and have done for the past three years, my daugther and her family are coming out here to live, as they have had enough of working all the hours, paying out and having no quality time with their children, i also have a cousin who lives here to, so its quite a family thing.
