Goa Safe

Goa Safe : State Government

PANAJI: In the wake of an Israeli government advisory asking its citizens not to travel to Goa due to threats of an Al-Qaida attack, Chief Minister Pratapsingh Rane on Thursday said his state was safe for tourists and stringent security measures were in place to protect them.

Sorry Sanjay, but I beat you to the punch by about 30 seconds.

Though I am skeptical of their reasons!

I'm sure the Israeli Government will try to look after the concerns of its citizens.

I'm sure the Goan Government will try to look after the concerns of its citizens.

Don't know what the big deal. India has already had its share of terrorist attacks. (Take a look at this map http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Image:T...s2001atlas.jpg.) Its impossible to prevent all future attacks. $hit happens. Life goes on.

The state govt is obviously going to downplay any threats in order avoid the downturn in tourism (a scene from the movie Jaws comes to mind)
