Ater having spent many New Years celebrations in Goa I have the following to say.

1) Book your accommodation well in advance.

2) Be prepared to pay 2-3 times the going rates for hotel rooms.

3) Be prepared for very large crowds and overcrowded restaurants. Keep close contact with your wallet, camera, handbag etc. Lots of thieves at this time of the year.
