prices - Goa - December

Hey guys,

does anyone know approx how expensive accomodation is in Goa over xmas and new year? I do have accomodation already booked in Candolim, but I am definately going to Palolem for a few nights. Do you think it will be very difficult to find any availability when I get there?

Would it be wiser to book accomodation online while still in U.K?

Palolem - still good or gone bad?

Hey guys...

Anyone been to Palolem recently? I'm thinking of heading down there when I go to Goa in December but have heard it is not as nice as it used to be. If it has lost its appeal can anyone suggest a 'paradise' type beach resort?

Hey,

does anyone have a link or web address for Home in Patnem? I can't find any info if I google it!

Hey there,

has anyone stayed at the Silver Sands resort in Candolim? what is it like?

Hey guys,

I'm off to Goa in December and have found conflicting info on the net about the max and min temp...some say min 21 c, max 29 c...others say min 5 c and max 11 c. Obv there is a big difference!

Could anyone enlighten me on the truth? Does it get chilly at night? Just so I know waht to pack! Ha

Hey does anyone know of any decent beach hut type accomodation in Arambol?

If you have links to websites and email addresses as well that would be great!

Does anyone know if it is possible to swim with dolphins anywhere in Goa? I know about the dolphin spotting trips and definately will be going on one...just wondered whether it was possible to swim with them?

Any other wildlife activities you can recommend will be greatly appreciated!

The first figures are correct.
Goa in winter is like the Mediterranean in Summer.
Glorious weather.
Winter woolies not necessary.

Perfect tropical weather then. Jeez, it's full of coco palms, mango, papaya trees, etc.. and lush tropical foilage, not the kind of vegetation that thrives well in cold weather.

Have stayed at Silver Sands a couple of times before. It has been refurbished since we last stayed in it but all good I think. It is a nice place. Nice and close to the beach, restaurants, taxis ets. Have always enjoyed our stay there and the owners are very nice too.

While in Goa, their prawn curry is a must-have (unless you're vege)

Hello,

Weather in December is beautiful and very hot. No need for warm clothes ( a pashmina or light top for evenings may be handy)

You can go on dolphin watchings trips but hey are wild dolphins and I don't remember anyone offering trips to swim with them. Its lovely none the less. You can often see dolphins off shore from the beach!

have fun - Arambol is beautiful but we didn't sleep there.

palolem-calangute distance

hi,

what would be the distance between palolem and calangute? if i am driving down to goa from banaglore, does it make sense to stay in palolem on my way in to goa or on my way out of there and onward to karwar et al?

Depending on traffic I would say it's 2-3 hours at most between Palolem and Calangute. And I would personally head to Calangute first and get all that driving out of the way first and then start heading south to Palolem and then Karwar at a leisurely pace. Because once you get past Margao in the south in Goa there's very little traffic to the Karnataka border on NH17 and on from there to Karwar.
