When do the rains begin to subside. I am planning on coming 10 August, would a couple of weeks delay make any difference/

Thats like asking someone in Uk if it wont be raining so much in August. No one will know that answer. But August by rights should be full on monsoon .I was in Goa a few years back and the rains was mainly at night in sept.

A couple of weeks are likely to help, as GENERALLY the rains subside towards the end of August, but this is not the case every year, so you won't know for sure. Normally September would be a better time to come (for sun)
