Hi
Was wondering whether Goa is busy between 17th March and April? Staying in Anjuna for 7 nights then taking the rucksack south. Will it be easy to find a place in Palolem just turning up? Or is palolem the wrong place entirely and should i head to any other place around that way Agonda, Patnem? First time to Goa and from what i've read i wont be dissappointed. Or will I? Not up for the whole tourist scene in the North but want to head to Panaji and old Goa so seems like the place to base. Oh, and the intoxicating parties do have an appeal.... Cheers for ANY help WHATSOEVER ![]() |

They'll still be a lot of people round at the end of march though not of course as many as over New Years.
You'll have no problems just turning up and finding accomadation. Why Anjuna ?. Vagator & Chapora are only a headland away & far less stressful these days,,,,,,,,,, Palolem is the right place, the people & accomadation situation applies the same as in the north. Have a Great Trip |

Cheers seventies hippy. Had a look round, as im new, and you seem to know everything there is to know about this place!
Where would you suggest exploring in the south? Fancy heading inland for a bit to check out the scenery. Also had a look at the the next full moon date - 25th March. Do the "beach parties" definately happen on this dates or is it a case of hanging around and feeling them out? One more thing, you say Anjuna is "stressful". Will it feel like a holiday/travelling experience there, or is it a concrete hell-hole of package tourists, litter and touts? Thought calangute sounded like this so might head to Chapora but don't know what the accommodation situation is like there. Cheers |

No Anjuna is far from a concrete jungle, yet, certainly no package people in any numbers anyway. By 'less stressful' I meant (especially for a first time visitor,) you will probably get touted a lot more than chapora /vagator. I feel these days Anjuna is really for people who know it pretty well & have got a connection with a family where they have a room to stay. You would slip into the scene better in chapora/vagator. As you're only around for 7days perhaps give Arambol a miss, If you went straight up there you'd probably be wondering what was happening elsewhere to much to settle. Check out Baga/ Calangute, you might be pleasantly surprised. Panjim & Old Goa are worth exploring, you'll find plenty of links via our search engine on all these places & more. Also have alook at Day Tripper It'll give you some more Ideas of whats there,,,,,,,, Happy Travelling |
