Goa in September.

I am planning a trip to Goa in first half of September. Firstly, how is the weather ?

I was in Goa in December/January last year. I went to Benaulim and Anjuna. Did not really go to lot of other places. What are some good beaches to just chill at ? I would prefer a quite beach (like Benaulim) which is close to all the excitement ( like Anjuna - i want it all).

Also, i want to stay at a decent place. Not a Five star hotel but no shack either.

Cheers !!

The weather will probably not be the best since the monsoon lasts between May and the end of September.

As for quite beaches, try Agonda Beach (my favourite), Palolem Beach or even Butterfly Beach. The nicest beaches are found in South Goa.

Try the hotel Panjim Inn at http://www.panjiminn.com/, this is where my friend and I will be staying at when we are passing through Goa.

Panjim Inn looks good. Have you stayed there before ?

Also, it does not look like its walking distance from a beach.

Thanks for the reply.

No, but I passed the hotel last time I was there.

The hotel is not situated in walking distance from a beach. If you want to live close to a beach in Panaji, you should try to find a hotel along the Miramar Beach or somewhere in Dona Paula. The only cheap hotel in Dona Paula I know of would be O Pescador with room rates from 500 to 1000 RS.

This is their homepage http://www.opescador.com

Another hotel would be Prainha, but it's much more expensive. Their address is http://www.prainha.com

I forgot to say, both Dona Paula and Miramar Beach are situated a bit outside central Panaji. Either travel by taxi, or by bus which approximately costs 4 RS.

Or were you looking for hotels at quite beaches? In that case I have missunderstood all of it!

I know of a few beaches in North Goa. Arambol, Chapora, Vagator and Querim Beaches.

Querim Beach is nearly deserted. Arambol is great! Let me know if you want suggestions of hotels.

Are you aware of any good hotels in Arambol and Vagator ? Maybe around 2000 Rs a day for a double room. This being off-season there must be some good hotels that fit in that budget.

Also, which beach did you like best from the ones you listed ?

Thanks again.

In Arambol, there aren't too many luxury hotels. The most expensivest one would be Welcome Inn, from 400 to 500 RS per day. There is also another hotel named Famafu Beach Resort, around 400 RS per day.

In Vagator, try The Royal Resort or Leoney Resort, http://www.leoneyresort.com

Chapora is my definite favourite!

The address to Leoney Resort I gave you doesn't work!

Try this one instead:

Chapora and Vagator are very close each other! Actually it's in the same area and there is plenty to do. Go visit Chapora Fort, visit the several beaches. Spaghetti Beach is fantastic!

Anjuna is about 2 kms south.

But if you are looking for somewhere quite close to all the action, stay at either Dona Paula or Miramar Beach. That's my advice!

I think i went to Miramar a long time ago. Isn't that beach too polluted, because its so close to the city and a major tourist destination. Also, i would think it might be really crowded too.
