Goa in September
Goa in September
I'm traveling to Goa in mid September and have heard that Arambol is a good area to visit as it begins the season a bit earlier than the other areas in Goa. However, its pretty far from the train station and was wondering if anyone has any advice of the best way to reach Arambol from Margao. Is there a bus or must we hire a driver?
Also, we have read in our guide book that Om Ganesh and Sunny Guest House are two good places to stay. First, has anyone experience with either of these places? Second, we are attempting to make a phone call to these places and cannot get through. We have an India SIM card and are currently attempting to call from Kerala. We have the correct code for Goa, but it is not working. Does anyone have the contact information for these places?
Thank you!

Why are you calling? You won't need reservations in September.
And the best places to stay in Arambol is in the north area, beyond the point where the rocky area starts towards the lake.
Here's a few pics. One is frommy balcony and the other is from sunset point in north Arambol where it's better to stay.

No direct bus from Margao to Arambol. You will have to take a taxi which will cost you about Rs 1200. Another option is to take a train from Margao to Pernem and from there you can take an auto-rickshaw to Arambol. Hi Ananda,
I am planning to visit Arambal (Harmal) on first two weeks of November 2010 with my Wife.
I have made two bookings for accomodation, 1. at Om Ganesh Guest House and one some where near the beach in a hut.
1. Can you guide me as to, which one would be better?
2. What is the name of the guest house from where you have clicked these pictures in your post?
My expectations are - a peaceful place to chill out/ long walks on beach/ basically a place to just relax.

Thanks in Advance.
