Hi All,
I live in New Delhi and plan to visit goa in november for 4-5 days around 20th of the month. I will go there with my wife. I would be travelling by train and will get down at madgaon station. Can anyone suggest me of a resonable price (Rs 1000/Night) resort or hotel near madgaon railway station. I heard that colva beach is good and nearest to the madgaon station. Goa tourism department has a list of beach resorts and offers accomodation out of which colva residency in colva beach is the nearest to the station. Is the hotels of the Goa tourism dept good enough to stay. Does anyone has the experience of staying at Colva Residency??? Is that a good hotel??? Also how much will it cost to reach the colva residency from madgaon railway station??? Any advise would be much appreciated. Thanks & Regards Sumit Sen |

Hiya,
Hope this reply is not too late for you. There are a couple of reasonable hotels in Colva if you would like to stay there. However, as you mentioned you prefer to stay close to Madgaon Railway Station, would you consider staying in Madgaon? In Madgaon there are a couple of cheap hotels as Margao Residency (approx 600 RS), Nanutel (approx 1050 RS) and Woodlands Hotel (approx 550-600 RS). These prices are per double room and may have changed! - Nanutel website: http://www.nanuindia.com/hotels/Nanu...e/nanutel1.htm - Goa Residency (Colva, Madgaon): http://www.goa-tourism.com/ Should you wish to stay in Colva, there are good hotels, however I cannot recommend any in your price range except GTDC as I don't have any price info on them. Colva Residency is approx 690 RS. You could also try Garden Cottages (less than 500 RS), Joema (less than 500 RS) or Star Beach Resort (between 500 and 2000 RS). Getting from Colva Residency to Magdaon Railway Station should take around 20-25 minutes on bus and will cost you around 5-10 RS per person. As I haven't stayed at GTDC myself I cannot comment. Perhaps any other user could be of assistance? diplomacy |
