Goa in August!

i have travelled frequently to Goa on work/holiday but never in the month of August!i was there 2 months ago in June but i stayed in the South(RajBaga) and didnt go up North and was lucky not to get any rains then except in the night which was fine by me!
how is the weather now? i will be in Panjim(on work) and then may extend my stay for a couple of more days depending on how i like it!any point of going up North(i am not a nightlife guy)to Baga/Calangute for a day? or better to hang around in Panjim?(i know enough water holes and eating places there!)
any IM'ers around the 25th to the 28th in Goa?would be fun to meet if possible and swig a couple of beers!

I love Panjim and spend many a afternoon eating in the restaurants there, then shopping .Theres not much happening in Baga in aug but if you stay in Panjim you can take the bus to Calangute and spend the day there.
I found Yahoo do the best weather forecast as a friend texts me from Calangute and they usually say the same as Yahoo.Yahoo today says its cloudy 82 degrees .

its the same with me, i just love Panjim and everytime i am there i just love the place more and more!coming from traffic jam packed Bangalore,Panjim is a small time town i'd die to spend my life in!
i think i shall avoid Baga and Calangute(been there many times over the last 10 years)and stick to Panjim! i also feel the food here is really great in the many restaurants!thanks again and cheers
